Sheryl is currently employed as the Building Maintenance Teacher at Oshkosh Correctional Institution and began her teaching career in April of 2012. She teaches Safety, Blueprints, Electrical, Carpentry, and Plumbing to adult male offenders in a medium security setting. As part of the curriculum, students build an actual house in her classroom which the students design and construct from the ground up. In addition to her newly-found passion for teaching, she has worked as a part of team in revamping the curriculum used. Sheryl not only advocates for her students to continue their education and learning but is currently adding to her own educational background of 3 technical diplomas (associate degrees) and a Journeyman Electrician credential, she is on track to receive her Bachelor’s degree in Career Technical Education and Training on May 9th, 2015, with Magna Cum Laude honors award from UW Stout and a GPA of 3.799. As a teacher and a tradesman she has defied the odds and continues to break down barriers for women in the construction industry.

Sheryl resides in Waupun WI with her husband, WIlliam and dog named Harley. She has 3 step daughters and 1 son who are now adults off doing their own thing. When Sheryl does have free time (in-between her work and studies) she enjoys electrical, home improvement projects, softball, boating, motorcycling, camping, snowmobiling, and travel. In addition to her professional accomplishments, she is also very proud of her very personal accomplishment of her 10 year wedding anniversary (May 5th, 2015 at 5:55 pm) which she plans on returning to where she was married, Las Vegas, and celebrate again.
